This race is undoubtedly one of the most majestic runs in Africa. It’s scenic, crossing the spectacular bridge border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, the route offers great views of the famous Victoria Falls and Zambezi river. It’s unique, in that it crosses an international border and your run through a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s wild, routing through the Zambezi National Park, chances are good you may spot some wildlife. And it’s fun, with the official sunset cruise and after party being legendary!
Besides the breathtaking landscapes you will encounter on the marathon, there is plenty more to do and see. Known as the adventure centre of Africa, for good reason, Victoria Falls has a wealth of activities available. We suggest however that you venture a little further away and go on a Zimbabwean Big 5 Safari. Our specialised safari is perfect for those with a sense of adventure. We will start off in Victoria Falls and then spend a few days on a camping/lodge combination in Hwange National Park – one of Africa’s forgotten game parks and Zimbabwe’s biggest. What makes this a special safari is that we will spend a couple of nights camping at some of the best waterholes in Hwange. From here we either return to Victoria Falls or do an extension to Mana Pools National Park, Lake Kariba or an additional night in Victoria Falls.
We can cater to your specific individual needs when it comes to your Vic Falls Marathon and Zimbabwe Safari, customising the length and order of your trip any way you prefer it. Or, you can allow us to suggest the best trip for you. Whichever option you choose, you can be assured of an amazing African running and wildlife safari!
This year’s Victoria Falls Marathon will take place on 3 July 2022.
