SkyRun Zimbabwe & Eastern Highlands Nature Spectacle

We are excited about this addition to our Safari Eventing packages: the SkyRun Zimbabwe & Eastern highlands Nature Spectacle.

Sky running by definition is a sport of mountain running above 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) where the incline exceeds 30% and the climbing difficulty does not exceed II° gradient. It’s like trail running but harder! The SkyRun Zimbabwe route follows the Turaco trail from Far and Wide , going through the Nyanga National Park, over the highest mountain (Mt Inyangani) in Zimbabwe and ending 62km (39 mi) later at the beautiful Aberfoyle lodge on the border of Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The trail takes runners on a journey through a vast mountain wilderness of wild rivers and waterfalls, forests, montane grasslands, valleys, gorges and mountain peaks.

After finishing the SkyRun you will then enjoy all that the eastern highlands have to offer. The eastern highlands is made up of three areas – the Nyanga Highlands in the north, the Bvumba Mountains in the centre and the Chimanimani Mountains in the south, each of which has its own attractions. Whether you want to go birdwatching and add some species to your life list, enjoy a round of golf at Leopard Rock, fish for trout at Troutbeck Inn, look for Samango monkeys, see Zim’s most spectacular waterfall at Mtarazi, go horse riding in Chirinda or just relax at the newly refurbished Aberfoyle Lodge, the eastern highland area of Zimbabwe is the perfect place.
We can cater to your specific individual needs when it comes to your SkyRun Zimbabwe & Eastern highlands safari, customising the length and order of your trip any way you prefer it. Or, you can allow us to suggest the best trip for you. Whichever option you choose, you can be assured of an amazing African running and nature experience!

The SkyRun is scheduled for 10 December 2022
